General Dentistry
We are an established family practice and are able to offer all aspects of dental treatment, either in-house or where necessary, on referral.
Our aim is to make your visit an enjoyable and relaxing experience to patients of all ages using high quality materials and utilising the latest techniques and equipment. For our NHS patients we provide all necessary care and treatment within the NHS.
Cosmetic Treatments
People are becoming more aware of their appearance and the importance of a healthy smile. We can help with treatments such as tooth coloured fillings, veneers and tooth whitening.
Advances in materials and dental techniques have broadened the horizons in the field of creating the perfect smile. We can introduce you to a full range of cosmetic treatments from simple tooth whitening to the use of porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges and tooth coloured fillings. Should you have any concerns regarding the appearance of your teeth please advise your dentist who will be able to explain the benefits cosmetic dentistry can offer.
Above, closing a large space between the front teeth using a tooth coloured filling material. This is only an intermediate restoration and ultimately will be made permanent using porcelain veneers.
Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer of tooth-coloured porcelain that is bonded to the front of a tooth to improve the colour, shape or alignment.
A small amount of tooth needs to be removed – just enough to prevent the veneer from looking or feeling bulky. At a second visit the veneer is bonded into position.
Veneers can greatly improve your appearance, hiding imperfections and improving alignment and you lose very little natural tooth material.
If the tooth is strong, a veneer is often a better option than a crown for improving a tooth’s appearance.
Implants Read More
From a single lost tooth to a full mouth implant supported restoration, the answer is not far away.
Preventative Treatments
We offer many preventive treatments, including hygienist appointments, dietary analysis and advice, fissure sealants and topical fluoride application.
A Dental Hygienist is a very important member of our team. She is a specialist in the treatment and prevention of gum diseases that cause strong teeth to be lost due to the destruction of supporting tissues such as bone, gum and ligaments. She routinely cleans teeth, monitors gum condition and offers advice on oral hygiene techniques and diet.
If your dentist recommends an appointment with the Hygienist it is because signs of gum problems have been diagnosed and you will benefit from the care in both active treatment and preventive advice that the Hygienist can offer
We also have an oral health educator who is qualified to offer help and advice on many aspects of your dental health.
For nervous patients
We understand that many people are nervous of dental treatment. Read on to find out how we can help.
We understand that dental phobia is commonplace. Many of our patients attend for the first time with histories of bad experiences in the dental chair; dentists who failed to listen or understand their concerns and needs.
We pride ourselves on our teams’ ability to address and hopefully build confidences in the dental team and environment. For those patients that still find it too difficult to undergo treatment in a dental environment our team are more than able to discuss options for all forms of dental work using various sedation methods. Both oral and intravenous sedation methods can be arranged.
Emergency appointments
Each dentist keeps dedicated time for patients with dental emergencies, so whenever possible please contact us as early as possible during normal surgery hours. This helps us to see you on the same day if necessary.
Outside normal hours, emergency contact information is on the practice answer-phone. We have a dentist available 365 days a year!
